Chlorofluorocarbons!
Yay I just managed to remember how to spell cholorofluorocarbons by typing it over and over again to joc/geog on MSN he he he he he :D Now I'm going to spam my blog with Geog stuff too!
Greenhouse effect is the natural effect that keeps the Earth warm! The gases in the atmosphere trap some of the heat from the sun's rays, thus warming the Earth surface.
Greenhouse gases = water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, CHLOROFLUOROCARBONS!
15 degreeeeeeeees.
Cos of increasing number of industrial and other human activites, there is enhanced greenhouse effect = global warming.
Greenhouse gases do not break down easily and thus accumulates, causing even more heat.
Carbon dioxide: Burning of fossil fuels and forests
CHLOROFLUOROCARBONS: Aerosol sprays, coolants in friges (?).
Nitrous oxide: Vehicle exhaust pipes, when nitrogen-based fertilisers break down.
Methane: Produced by bacteria in wer rice fields, by decomposition of waste in landfills, relased by cows when they belch.
The rate that polar regions get heated by global warming is higher compared to equatorial regions cos more sunlight is absorbed by the dark-coloured ground as well as by the large water bodies at the poles.
By 2100, temperature increase by 1.5-4.5 degrees!!!!!
In dry regions, this might cause droughts, water shortage and more frequent heatwaves.
In wetter regions, more rainfall would be expected.
Cos faster evaporation. Means more water vapour in the airrrrrr.
Vegetation growth around the world could be affected as different types of vegetation require different climatic conditions to grow. Decreased production of food crops may lead to food shortage
Ainmals which only survive in low temperatures may have to migrate to cooler areas when temperatures rise. If they don't, they must become extinct.
Mosquitoes would mutiply more rapidly as the thrive under higher temperatures. This would lead to the spread of diseases such as dengue fever, malaria and yellow fever.
Long exposure to the hot sun or heat waves can also cause people to suffer from dehydration and heat stroke.
Rising heat would cause the ice caps at the North and South poles to melt. Sea levels would increase by 20 to 50 cm by 2050.
Cook Islands face the risk of disappearance as they are only a few metres above sea level.
Increase erosion of the coast due to the rising sea levels will damage buildings in coastal cities, like Venice.
Arable farmland may be destroyed and people living near to the coastal aremas may have to move to higher grounds eg Papua New Guinea.
papua new guinea papua new guinea papua new guinea papua new guinea papua new guinea papua new guinea.
Typing out stuffs helps me remember :) All my hopes are on Geog I gave up on Chinese.
